Daze Chat will be at the top of the App Store by the end of the day.
Daze Chat is a new AI messenger app designed for Gen Z. They raised $5.7M pre-launch from a16z, Kindred Ventures, Alpaca Ventures, Uncommon Projects, and more.
The official launch is today (Nov 4), but they started setting things up months ago.
Tiktok : @daze.chat => first post on April 21st
Instagram : @daze.chat => first post on May 29th
1 video per day on both accounts. All content is 100% faceless and follows the same exact format:
Screen-recording of the app with a text conversation thread + b-roll recording running in the background
Videos show features of the app – drawing, stickers, images, gifs, etc
They play with hooks, it usually involves a question + answer of the other person.
One ex is: “Open this letter” => “Do you wanna go out with me?” => “No, I have a bf :(“
And engagement is crazy. top post => 8,1M views // 496K likes // 4556 comments // 67,3K saves 11% of posts outperform median by 10x.
It also looks like Daze is starting a multi-account strategy. I’ve found at least four smaller accounts on TikTok and one more on IG. They’re not huge yet, but they’re growing and targeting different languages and regions.
Now that they’ve hyped everything up, they’ve let users from the waitlist access the app. It rockets near the top, and users start posting their own organic videos on TikTok and IG, boosting its ranking even more, and so on…
